Week 2 – 9/4 – Photo Roman Idea

While researching folktales for my photo Roman story, I thought to myself, I should go with something from Jamaica. I came across the myth of the duppy. A duppy is a restless spirit, usually a dead relative or friend that visits one in their dreams and gives them advice. There are bad or evil puppies that wish to do harm. Signs that one has been visited by a duppy is feeling like your head is growing, or feeling a sudden intense heat somewhere on your body. Methods of warding off a duppy are to eat salt, wearing your clothes inside out, or shaming them by exposing your privates.
